KTI Technical Center: 2021 and Forward

Kayser Technology, Inc. (KTI) is an independent and private company offering leading-edge research and services through its TECH CENTER in Pasadena, Texas. The TECH CENTER is driven by:

(a) contract services for industrial clients with challenging projects, and

(b) internal research aimed to improve methods, understanding, and models.

The most-difficult measurements in conventional Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC), PetroFCC, and related processes are addressed at KTI. The TECH CENTER relies on the latest ACE Technology® developed and manufactured by KTI.

The pilot plants include:

  • ACE-Model AT – a high temperature catalyst attrition system (six attrition cells)

Performance Capabilities

  • ACE-Model M100 – a precise tool for placing metals onto catalyst by several different pathways including the crack-on/oil based technique as well as flash deposition by aqueous metal salts

Performance Capabilities

  • ACE-Model HT100-2 (three units) – offers multi-mode capability to hydrothermally deactivate catalyst under various environments including KTI’s RedOx Technology (this can also be morphed to operate as CPS)

Performance Capabilities

  • ACE-Model C (two units) – Offers dual feed systems, dry gas collection, high temperature cracking, and high C/O capability

Performance Capabilities

Associated with the above pilot plants are:

  • particle size analysis equipment, and
  • gas chromatographs including Refinery Gas Analyzers, SimDis Analyzers, and a Gasoline Detailed Hydrocarbon Analyzer (DHA)

Services as an Operating Tech Center

  • Catalytic cracking measurements for FCC yields
  • Cracking measurements at high temperatures
  • Catalyst deactivation including metals contamination
  • Catalyst selection
  • Testing catalyst additives
  • Process research and troubleshooting
  • Assessment of feedstock and catalyst properties
  • Development of new methods and technology
